Staff Accountant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with all company bookkeeping tasks including but not limited to; AR, AP, PR, GL, and daily/weekly/monthly journal entries.
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy and proper codes.
  • Classify, allocate, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records.
  • Take bank deposits to bank as needed.
  • Maintain vendor and other third party consultants and payees have accurate information in the system including address, phone, email and W-9s.
  • Keep client information confidential.
  • Maintain all functions of accounting which include, but are not limited to: Monthly reconciliations, Monthly financial statements, Banking and cash management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll process; including but not limited to PTO, taxes and file maintenance, and compliance.
  • Payroll and business taxes including but not limited to: 941, 940, W-2, W-3, L&I, SUTA, State & local B&O tax, 1099/1096.
  • Work closely with the accounting department.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business or related experience in all tasks above
  • A minimum of 2 years of additional experience in accounting will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Proficient with complex Excel spreadsheets and QuickBooks.
  • Candidate should be detail oriented, efficient in meeting deadlines in advance of due dates, efficient in streamlining processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be a self-starter, organized, and have an eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues at all levels in the organization and externally with clients.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to pass a background check (includes criminal and credit) upon receiving and accepting an employment offer.
